Create Sitemap For Blogger Wordpress TypePad Blogs

Many bloggers especially new vibes are worried about generating sitemap for their blogs. Here I will describe some easy and less effort requiring ways to create sitemap for your blogs.

Solution 1:(For Blogger)
Create a new page, go in Edit HTML mode and paste below given code and save this page. This is your sitemap.

Making sure to replace http://myblog.blogspot.com with the actual URL of your blog.


Solution 2:
For this method your blog posts must me labeled (each post must have atleast one label.)
1. First of all Sign-up for an API key by providing the site address for which you want to generate sitemap.
2. Save your key in notepad or somewhere else.
3. Create a new post or page and in Edit HTML mode paste this code and edit it by adding your API key, Label names and Label urls (add all label names and there urls). There are ten lines for labels, if labels in your site are more or less you can delete or add more lines.
4. Save this post, it is your site's sitemap.


Solution 3: (For Blogger)
If you need sitemap for blogger blog only for submission to search engines then this is the best solution for your.
If you need sitemap for Google Webmaster Tools then your sitemap is already created! here is its url:

Solution 4: (For TypePad)
If you want to enable sitemap for TypePad blog, just go to Weblogs >> Configure >> Publicity menu and enable Google sitemap. After enabling, URL of your sitemap will be:

Making sure to replace myblog with actual name of your blog.


Solution 5: (For Wordpress)
DOWNLOAD this zip file, extract its contents to wp-content/plugins/ and then on your Wordpress administrator board hit plugins and activate this. After this you will have a menu to manage your sitemap.

Make Sure Your Site is Properly Submitted to Google


Google is no doubt the best source of traffic for a website. You must properly index your site in this great search engine. Generally Google itself index the new sites with its regular crawling system, but you must ensure all of your content is there in google's notice. First check if google has index your blog, just go to Google Webmaster Tools and check your site. If your site is not there then login for Google Webmaster Tools and click "add a site" and enter your site address. After you submit your site it will be index by google on next crawl.
After indexing you will be promoted to verify your ownership. You should verify I recommend this. You can verify your site either by adding  a meta tag (easier method) to your site or by uploading a provided html file.
After verification next thing you do is share the complete sitemap with google, this is very critical for complete indexing. To submit your site map on your Google Webmaster Tools dashboard click your site, and then click "site configuration" (drop down menu) and then go to sitemap option and hit "Submit a Sitemap" button and put your sitemap url. I have described how to create sitemap in another post.
Once you have done this Google will crawl your site in a better way, and you will Google Webmaster Tools will provide you detailed stats about your site.
