FeedBurner: A very helpful tool for bloggers

FeedBurner is a very helpful feed manager which can increase web traffic considerably. If you're not already using this service then you are missing a lot. Using Feedburner will surely help you increase your blog's traffic.

If you use blogger then redirect your blogger's feed to feedburner. To do this go to Feedburner website and create feed syndication for your blog. Now go to blogger's dashboard Settings > Feeds and add your feedburner's feed URL and save.

Feedburner provides many widgets which can be used for blog publicity. As for example you can promote the content of your blog with a headline animator, this will display the headlines of your website anywhere you will place code of this headline animator. You can choose a suitable desin out of many available styles and designs. To get the html code for Headline Animator, just go to the Feedburner Account's menu Publicize > Headline Animator and choose a style. You can add this as a widget in your blog or anywhere else on the internet where you have access to edit html; as for example in MySpace.

Feedburner also provides ability to summarize your feed, this creats a teaser of your blog posts to encourage readers to visit your blog to read the whole post.
FeedBurner can also automatically ping few feed-reading websites when you publish a post, Feedburner can ping Technorati and Ping-o-matic! You can enable this option, just go to Publicize > PingShot menu of your FeedBurner's dashboard and choose services to ping.
Feedburner also provide a very simple widget that allows visitors to subscribe to your feed through email. To enable this email subscription, go to FeedBurner's dashboard menu Publicize > Email Subscriptions and customize subscription form. Then add the provided code as a widget in your blog.

There is much more that you can do with Feedburner; what is stated above is just an overview, there are many other ways Feedburner can help you. Try it and you will find it very useful.

    Has Feedburner been shut down? All links to feedburner.com and feedburner.google.com result in Not found Error 404 messages.
